CUPPA

Coffee!! The movement this word is pronounced outta nowhere an alluring smell of coffee taps the nose & we already feel energetic.

Now I know, why our ancients used to feel tired. They lived in BC (before coffee).

Ethiopia, the Greek formation of the word Ethiopia may be a folk etymology for the Ancient Egyptian term athtiu-abu, which means ‘robbers of hearts’.

No wonder coffee was discovered in Ethiopia.

There are four basic/primary types of coffee beans: 1. Arabica 2.Robusta 3.Liberica 4.Excelsa

Coffee is enjoyed in various forms around the world. Each & every country has a unique way of making coffee. Some of them are;

1. Ethiopian Coffee: Coffee from Ethiopia is known for its bright fruited and floral flavors. These coffees typically have a higher acidity, light to medium body and complex flavor notes.

2. Turkish coffee: is almost always flavored with sugar and spices, a generalization in terms of taste is very difficult.

3. Scandinavian Egg Coffee: Scandinavia, egg whites are mixed into the grounds to help the flow of hot water through the beans. Sometimes egg shells are also added.

4. Mexico Café de olla: is a traditional Mexican coffee beverage. To prepare café de olla, it is essential to use a traditional earthen clay pot, as this gives a special flavor to the coffee. This type of coffee is principally consumed in cold climates and in rural areas.

5. Morocco—Spiced Coffee: This fragrant blend of dark coffee melds together warm spices like cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.

These coffees are in my must try list, I hope they made a place in your must try list too.

The real pleasure of drinking coffee according to me, is during rain with a beautiful book into your hand. It feels like heaven!!

But honestly; whether your reading a book or not. Whether it’s raining or not; coffee knows it’s way of giving you pleasure.

And now I won’t take much of your time, you can enjoy your coffee!

Greatest Power one can have.

Knowledge to humans is as important as fragrance to flowers, Humor to comedians, bananas to minions & not to mention but followers to a blogger.

(whispers: now you know what to do).

Knowledge is like ice cream, it needs to be stored properly & should be eaten at a pace otherwise, enjoy a brain freeze.

Knowledge gives one: confidence, attitude, boldness, elevates imagination, makes one superior to others in their respective field/career/profession.

Above all, it is useful to shut up a fool, with some facts.
Admit it we all do enjoy it.

Learning facts & remembering most of them can be pretty easy!

How? simply by sharing or discussing them with your friends!

An easy yet effective way of recollecting them.

I am going to start a parallel segment in which I will be sharing fun facts with all my friends( you all).

which as the name suggests would be “factually funny”.

Do check it out & let me know what do you think about my new segment!!

Keep gaining knowledge!!

Stay hungry, stay foolish – Steve Jobs.

A world where alphabets rule.

School comes up with ideas which are agony for children with their best defensive line: It’s important for your future!!

I know, the above lines don’t make any sense; nor did my school subjects:
English, History & MATHS.

BUFFALO BUFFALO BUFFALO BUFFALO,
BUFFALO BUFFALO BUFFALO BUFFALO.
This is grammatically correct!! & so are,

Will, will Will will Will Will’s will?

A SHIP-SHIPPING SHIP SHIPS SHIPPING SHIPS.

In history, names bigger than my mouth, which I was hardly able to pronounce or write, were expected to learn.

Maths? That’s the reason calculators are made!!!

All those big equations which I learnt, I still haven’t encountered their usage in real life! & I don’t think I will unless these types of signs are used.

According to me, the problem with teaching maths is, most of the time people don’t tell us usage of mathematical equations in our day-to-day life which makes it boring or tedious.

Well, after few years I found out that maths isn’t the worst subject! Yes, you heard me, because then I was introduced to physically education.

Clever methods of torture:

Grades – Basic needs of humans: food, water, clothes, shelter & Grades!

Grades have become so important in our life; that students with low grades are treated the way one will treat a criminal!

Divisions This method is quite an interesting one, it not only helps in the distribution of population but also helps people to define the “intelligence” of students.

Punishments I still don’t understand how punishment can make someone do their H.W or help them understand concepts

Exams: The living Nightmares, because most of the nights are spent studying.

School teaches one what to do after passing the exam but don’t teaches one what to do after failing.

Real-world knowledge like how to pay taxes, how to become an entrepreneur, how to become a leader, not a boss, etc. isn’t taught.

Mental health exam pressure, comparison based on intelligence, these all kinds of things leads to disturbance in mental health of children.

Schools are important & I do agree it gives us some of best memories of our childhood but we can’t ignore the fact that there is a lot of scope for improvement in the schooling system.

Let’s try our best to make education fun time instead of fatigue time.

Am a proud Ink drinker

The other day I was learning Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, History of Magic, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy, Herbology.

Which all was just fascinating. Well not only I was learning but also I was discovering new mysteries, & not to brag but, also saving my school from dangerous creatures.

The next day I was on a lovely, stunning, beautiful island with ten people including myself.

In a wonderful modernized Mansion. Just like a dream come true; which eventually became a nightmare! As an unidentified, unknown killer started to kill people one by one.

This wasn’t a dream, it was all real!
No, no I wasn’t hallucinating nor am I crazy!

It all happened, in a real-world name Books.

The first one was Harry Potter and the second one’s, And Then There Were None!

Many people ask what books do? But I would like to ask what they don’t?

There are tons of benefits of reading books some of them are;

Strengthens the brain.

Increases empathy.

Builds vocabulary.

Prevents cognitive decline.
Reduces stress.

Aids sleep.
Alleviates depression.

Lengthens lifespan.

improves brain connectivity
increases your vocabulary and comprehension.

empowers you to empathize with other people

aids in sleep readiness.
reduces stress.

lowers blood pressure and heart rate.
fights depression symptoms
prevent cognitive decline as you age.

Children who read achieve better in school.

Above all, the biggest perk of reading books is; one lives in the world of books; leaving all the reality behind, you drown in a gorgeous world of imagination!

And of course, how can I forget to mention Bibliosmia!,( smell of books)

So let’s explore numerous dimensions through books!

And let’s all of us become a proud ink drinkers!!

Curiosity

A child on average asks 300, Questions a DAY!!

& I was no exception to that fact. Being a kid I always used to ask, How? Why?

Apart from the fact that being a kid I was familiar with these words only.

As I was growing up I thought twice before asking questions, I hesitated for something I never; back then when I was a child.

And the same happens with most of us…as time passes we lock our curiosity deep inside our mind!

Most of the time it’s because we hear things like stop asking questions or be an adult now!

We forget the importance of curiosity in our life. And today I would like to talk about it with you all.

What curiosity does:

Achievement booster: A student, for example, his curious nature, about a subject will not only increase his chances of getting good grades but also will help him to understand the concept instead of mugging it up.

Curiosity makes us HAPPIER!!! can you believe it?!!! I can not I mean the element which we all lose in this chaotic world gives us HAPPINESS?!!

But yes, yes it’s true…curiosity is known to be associated with higher levels of positive emotions, lower levels of anxiety.

Makes us social: We all know how important communication is in our life & what role it plays in making us social.

Curiosity helps us to be more social as we are interested to know about people around us about their lives, their choices, etc.

The necessity of curiosity: What I think is, curiosity’s foundation of all our growth, advancement, development, which we made up till now.

And for making further progress, we do need it.

When we talk about eminent personalities we say they are prudent, pragmatic, etc. but most of the time forget to mention that they were curious about their surroundings!

Forget to mention the fact that they always kept; that curious child alive inside them.

Can we bring our curiosity back?:

The most effective way according to me which I would like to recommend you all is to make a curiosity jar.

It’s a productive aspect to get back your curiosity.

One method which may sound bizarre is to talk with small kids.

There’s a high chance that, watching them or hearing them being curious, may awake your curiosity from its deep sleep.

Curiosity is like a seed that is buried underneath you…all you have to do is give it water & sunlight!

LET’S STAY CURIOUS!!!!

Master your communication skills with these small tips!

“Communication is one of the most important skills you require for a successful life.”

-Catherine Pulsifer

One word, just a word starts communication; and the unknown journey beings.

Communication is a skill.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I called it, an indispensable part of life.

Today in my first blog ever; we are going to discuss how communication skills can be improved.

Master 7C’s
Clear (Speech)
Concise (Short & clear)
Concrete ( Fact-based)
Correct ( Grammar )
Coherent ( Logical )
Complete ( Don’t leave a topic in middle)
Courteous ( Be polite )

Listen to what people are talking earnestly.

Ask questions, relevant to the topic but don’t flood them with questions; trust me it’s intimidating!

Verbal communication Words contribute to verbal communication. Having a good vocabulary with correct grammar & sentence structure is the only thing you need for it.

Non-verbal communication It includes a couple of types such as;

Gestures – Let your hands-free! Instead of keeping them folded let them express your feelings. Your happiness, excitement, appreciation…etc.

Eyes – Make eye contact with the person your talking to. Without starring at them.

Body language – The way you stand, sit, walk; makes a huge difference. It should be firm & confident. For instance a businessman/woman, they have such graceful body language.

Pitch – Again, it should be; firm and confident. Speaking from the chest is considered to be a potent way. ( A small tip; practice diaphragm breathing .)

Last but not least…smile! A small yet powerful technique.

I hope these small & basic tips help you all to improve your communication skills.

Did you experience a situation where you wanted to speak something but you didn’t because of fear or anxiety?
